FAQs

Does Celtic Sea Salt have any health concerns when used on skin?
  • Topical use is considered safe. Celtic Sea Salt is rich in trace minerals and is widely used in scrubs, mists, and bath products for its exfoliating, hydrating, and soothing benefits.
  • Minimal absorption. While your skin may absorb trace minerals and electrolytes from salt water (like magnesium and potassium), these amounts are very small and not enough to affect systemic health conditions (e.g. blood pressure, cholesterol).
  • Gentle but not for broken skin. Like most salts, it can sting on cuts, abrasions, or very sensitive areas. That’s why labels usually say: “Do not apply to broken or irritated skin.”
  • Potential for mild irritation. A small percentage of people with very sensitive skin may experience dryness or redness if used too often without balancing moisturisers.

This is a sign of purity and authenticity. The Ocean Sand Bar is made with unrefined Celtic Sea Salt crystals — so you may notice a little loose salt when you first unwrap it. This is natural and part of its mineral-rich texture.

These small details are reminders that your ritual is powered by nature, not synthetics — honest care straight from the ocean.

The Ocean Mist Spritzer contains residual Celtic Sea Salt and trace minerals. The gentle settling you see at the bottom is proof of its unrefined origin. Simply give the bottle a light shake before spritzing to activate the full mineral blend.

In a world that feels rushed, stressful, and disconnected, rituals create a moment of intentional care. It’s about returning to yourself each day through simple, purposeful acts of restoration. You’re not just “washing your face,” “hydrating your skin,” or “spritzing” — you’re:

  • Cleansing away the pollution, stress, and noise of the day
  • Hydrating your skin and calming your mind
  • Reconnecting with your body, breath, and natural rhythm
  • Pausing to care, to restore, to begin again

Umi’s unrefined Celtic Sea Salt is sourced from the pristine coastal waters of France, hand-harvested using traditional methods that preserve its 60+ natural minerals. We ensure it is ethically and naturally sourced — as pure as the ocean itself.

Yes. Every Umi formula is crafted with natural, unrefined ingredients like Celtic Sea Salt, botanicals, and mineral-rich elements — never synthetic fillers or harsh chemicals.

Plant-based ingredients such as castor oil and glycerine are included for their skin-kind benefits, and any functional elements (like a natural preservative) are chosen purely for safety and skin health, never as a shortcut.

Active ingredients in the HydraGlow Elixer — Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide — are nature-identical: they’re created through gentle fermentation and natural synthesis to mirror compounds your skin already produces and needs. This means they’re safe, vegan-friendly, and designed to work in harmony with your skin.

Yes. All Umi cartons — including the boxes for the Elixir, Spritzer, and Ocean Sand Bar — are made from recyclable cardboard. Our bottles are made from PET plastic — lightweight, recyclable, and chosen with care to balance purity, protection, and a lighter footprint on the planet.

We invite you to complete the ritual by placing your empty packaging into your local recycling bin — a simple act that helps care for the planet as much as your skin.
